Hi! I’m Jill. I’m a writer and editor offering freelance editorial guidance and writing coaching to emerging writers. I write a Substack called Early & Alone about navigating the messy middle—of relationships, life, and writing.
My essays have appeared in BuzzFeed, Catapult, and Vol 1 Brooklyn. I have also written for TalkSpace, Greatist, Publisher’s Weekly, and the Ploughshares blog.
I’ve edited a variety of writing, from textbooks, writing for children, books about wedding planning and relationship advice to short story collections, personal essays, and memoir.
I got my BA in History and Italian from the College of the Holy Cross and then an MA in Publishing & Writing from Emerson College. I’ve lived in Florence, Boston, New York, and Boston again before returning to Rhode Island, where I grew up, in 2020. I now live in Providence with my spicy Chihuahua mix, Gizmo. I love pop culture (especially from the 90s), cheese, tarot, coffee, books, dogs, and history. I’m always reading or listening to a podcast or a playlist. I write mostly memoir but dabbling in fiction. I also sometimes like to collage.
